Beckie Ryan, a former contestant on the show, took to Twitter to post her tribute after hearing the news of the cancellation. Eight weddings, six babies and a generation of youngsters who have grown up watching us on Saturday night TV. Ten years! This show brings 30 single girls to main stage and all have a light in front of them. If they like him they keep there light on. They do this for 3 rounds. The first round is first impressions when the girls can switch off on first impressions, looks, name and destination alone. The second round is normally the VT round where they find out a bit more about him. The last round is either a special talent or getting stitched up by a friend of relative.
If they still have lights on by this point they can then turn off any remaining lights except two girls. Saturday 8pm on ITV. When summer comes around my Twitter will be all over this show! A single man was then brought down on stage via the ‘Love Lift’ and tried to persuade the women to agree to be his date in a series of rounds, playing a prerecorded video discussing his background, displaying a skill such as dancing or playing a musical instrument , or playing another video in which the man’s friends or family reveal more about his virtues and philosophy.
At any point during the rounds, the women could press the button in front of them to turn off their light if they did not want a date with the man. If this occurs, their area of the stage turned red. If, at the end of three rounds, there were still lights left on, the bachelor would turn off all but two of the remaining lights himself.
